Hopeful Uncertainty
Devon helped me today to wash up before my doctors appointment. i know he loves me, but at 53 i would have never guessed i would need help to wash myself. But it feels so good to be semi clean (my last solo shower was July 23, 2015).
i went to see the surgeon today and he was quite impressed with my progress. A hole in my would is healing faster then i think he thought it would. i don't see him now for two weeks.
Also at the appointment was Karen, who will work with me when i get my leg. She also wears a prosthetic leg, so i was able to ask her what to look forward to. She filled me with confidence about the future.
If all goes well, we're looking at maybe 3 weeks before i am fitted with a leg.
And that first time will truly be a walk to remember.
